Web 2.0 Badge Tutorial
Learn how to easily create one of those trendy Web 2.0 Badges.
PSD files for this Photoshop tutorial are included, and you can download a package of Web 2.0 badges as well!
Step 1
Make a new document - I’ve used a 150×150 canvas.
Step 2
Choose the Polygon Tool.
Change number of sides to 20.
Go to Polygon Options. Check the Star box, and indent sides by 20%.
Step 3
Choose a very light gray for your fill colour.
Hold down Shift and drag out your badge from the center of the canvas.
Step 4
Right click the layer to enter Blending Options.
Select Outer Glow. Set Blend Mode to Normal, Opacity to 25%, and change the glow colour to a dark gray or black.
Select Gradient Overlay, then click on the active gradient.
Change the gradient depending on what colour you want your badge to be. You will want the lighter/brighter colour on the left.
Select Stroke. Change size to 1 and the stroke colour to white.
